Chris Lowe is a Master CREIA Inspector, and Certified ASHI Inspector. Known as one of the most thorough in the industry, Chris works to increase awareness that a more thorough inspection is key. We believe that a home purchase is a huge investment, and that proper investigation is paramount. We regularly serve investors, engineers, contractors, and industry professionals, as well as first-time buyers.
History – Established in 2000:
Imperial home inspection was founded in 2000 by Chris and Susan Lowe, in the Greater San Gabriel Valley. There, Chris served a term as the California Real Estate Inspection Association Chapter President, as well as Education Chair. In 2009, Imperial Home Inspection moved to the City of Ventura, where we currently specialize in beach homes and older homes, as well as many other types of construction. Chris is a graduate of USC and is a Master CREIA Inspector, the highest designation for an inspector by the California Real Estate Inspection Association.

Chris Lowe is a Master CREIA Inspector (MCI) and Certified ASHI Inspector. He is a Certified CREIA Trainer, as well as a CREIA-approved Mentor for Candidates. In addition, Chris is also a certified Tile Roof Inspector and a Licensed Drone Pilot.
Chris’s favorite part of a day is when he gets to suit up in his Tyvek coveralls and respirator and squeeze into a low-clearance space to inspect the dark underbelly of a house. This is where he truly gets to see the history and condition. Often, a home has been beautified on the inside, but it may have been neglected in the area where it really counts – the infrastructure. Chris will inspect any accessible attic, crawlspace, plumbing access, or hidden closet that may offer insight into the whole overall condition of a property, which is one of the reasons that we only do one inspection per day. This level of commitment takes time.
Excellence is Chris’ goal. As a home inspector, being a Master CREIA Inspector and a Certified ASHI inspector, along with maintaining his independence as a one-inspector company, has allowed him to continue to achieve that goal. He has been a full-time Home Inspector since 2000, and in that time, he has been a Chapter President of CREIA (San Gabriel Valley), and is currently a Certified Drone Pilot and a Certified Tile Roof Specialist. He takes every inspection personally, as if he or a family member were purchasing the property. He believes that an inspection should never be rushed, and typically does no more than one per day, in order to allow the time necessary to uncover any and all issues. Many of our clients include Engineers, other Home Inspectors, Real Estate Agents (for their personal purchases), and Wealth Managers because they understand the need for the highest level of service and expertise, and Chris is a perfect fit for them.
Chris strives to set the standard for Home Inspection. Rather than follow others and accept a less-than-inspiring reporting software, he created his own customized system and report to ensure that the information he provides to each and every client is useful and well-articulated. In addition, he is a natural born Inspector, being driven by his sense of curiosity and need to continuously improve his knowledge base. He loves nothing more than to approach a previously unseen property, knowing nothing about it, and to come out at the end of the day with everything a client needs to know before finalizing their investment.
Residential Homes
We provide pre-purchase, pre-listing, and home check-up residential inspections. Our specialty is older homes, but we have over 20 years of experience with homes of all ages.
Commercial Properties
We will inspect most commercial properties, with the bulk of our experience being in office buildings, restaurants, banks, warehouses, and schools.
Expert Witness
We provide an unbiased review of the issues for a potential property lawsuit and have experience in testifying in small claims court and in depositions.
Crawlspace Check-up
If you are curious about the condition of the “underbelly” of your older home, we will crawl through and review the foundation and any visible framing, plumbing, and electrical wiring.
Drone Services
Chris is an FAA Certified Drone Pilot, and is experienced at taking videos of roofs, as well as general drone videography.
Construction Review
We can review contractor work to ensure that it meets current standards and determine if corrections should be made.
