Just a few causes that are near and dear to our heart…

In 1999, CENTURY 21 Troop Real Estate started the Troop Turkey-A-Thon, a program that partners with food banks to donate Thanksgiving meal essentials to qualified families throughout Ventura County and Santa Clarita. That food was distributed through the Salvation Army/Care and Share, Manna, and Food Share of Ventura County. We also provided meals for 750 families on the Sea Bee Base for Thanksgiving.

Year to date (2017), we have fed over 250,000 people since the program’s first year. Our goal this year is to reach 30,000 people (3,000 local families).

The incredible efforts from friends, family, clients, and local community assisted us in reaching our goals last year. We count on the support of our family, friends and clients to help us repeat prior year’s successes! With your help we may even exceed our projected goals! Any Donation from $25.00  (which feeds 1 family Thanksgiving Dinner) to $5,000 as a Title Sponsor will help us feed the less fortunate and military families Thanksgiving Dinner.

We find joy in knowing all raised funds benefit qualified people, young and old.  Some are unemployed, some are handicapped or sick, and some are simply suffering through a difficult time.  There are no administrative fees of any kind and 100 percent of your donation goes to the expense of the food. Every year, the need gets greater and we count on people like you to help.

Our annual Turkey Drive will be funded through Troop Community Foundation (a 501(c)3 foundation).  Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.  If you would like to be a part of helping a family, please make your checks payable to: Troop Community Foundation

The Samaritan Center has been providing services to our community since 1994, serving approximately 200 unduplicated individuals per year, five days a week. The Samaritan Center is the only facility of this kind in Simi Valley, helping the homeless community.

Each individual or family is required to enter into wrap-around case management service. While meeting their goals and objectives described in their Action Plan, clients may receive services ranging from showers, meals, social worker services, bible study and counseling services during their daily walk-in hours. Through outreach programs provided at the Center, the Samaritan Center also offers their clients access to public mental health services, job recruitment, Veterans services and more. The Center’s goal is to support the homeless to become productive members of the community.

The insecurities of living without a home and the situations that contribute to this can leave people feeling very alone and without hope. The Samaritan Center exists to be a place where individuals and families can receive immediate assistance and support needed in order to take the steps necessary to move out of their homelessness. The Center’s greatest strength is personal contact with each individual, assessing his or her needs and networking with other social service agencies to meet each client’s unique barriers.  They are a non-profit corporation #77-0321181 and not affiliated with any other organization.
